The work sits where a business is being forced to become something different while it still has to run as what it already is. A new model, new platform, new scale, or new capability may be necessary. The future state may even be clear. But the current business does not stop while the change is being made, and that is where the strain starts to show.

For thirty years, my work has sat inside the break between new capability and the structure required to carry it. At PTC, BearingPoint, Deloitte, and Autodesk, I worked through shifts that changed how businesses designed products, connected to customers, modernized core operations, and moved from license-based economics to SaaS. The current version is AI: capability entering faster than the operating model, governance, workflows, economics, and people can absorb it.
The records on this site show the pattern. The visible problem is rarely the whole problem. A platform issue becomes a delivery-system issue. A services portfolio losing money becomes a sales, scoping, and incentive problem. Missed commitments trace back to a portfolio nobody can actually see. The work is finding the real constraint — in the technology, the workflow, the economics, the politics, or the clock — and fixing it in a way the organization can execute around while it keeps running.
Pivotal exists because this work does not need a leverage pyramid. It needs someone who can read the whole board, put a number on what the problem is costing, and stay close enough to the work to remain accountable for what changes.
Engagements begin small and defined: one important problem, a number we agree on, and a narrow window to stop the bleed. What happens after that depends on what the situation requires and what the work earns.
